DİYARBAKIR - HDP CEB member and Youth Assembly Co-Spokesperson Serhat Aktumur who was kidnapped by 3 people with MİT ID's in Diyarbakır, said: "These attacks are an attack on the youth, the strongest advocates of the idea of HDP."

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Board (MYK) Member and Youth Assembly Co-Spokesperson Serhat Aktumur was kidnapped yesterday (September 18) at the Kantar Junction in Diyarbakır's central Kayapınar district by 3 people who showed an ID of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT). Aktumur, who was battered by 3 people told the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) about what happened.

HE WAS BATTERED AND FORCED INTO A CAR

Aktumur, who went to Kantar Junction to meet with his friends after leaving the Bağlar District Organization at around 15:00 yesterday, said that a person who blocked his way said he wanted to talk to him. Aktumur said when he asked the man who he was he showed an ID of the MİT. Aktumur told that he doesn't have anything to talk to them and if they want to ask something they should take him to the Security Directorate. Then he was battered by 3 people and forced into a car.

HE WAS BEATEN IN THE CAR

Stating that there are many city surveillence cameras at the place where he was kidnapped, Aktumur said he was forced into a car, he resisted and shouted out that he was being kidnapped.

Aktumur stated that he was beaten, insulted and threatened along the way in the vehicle, and he was first taken to the Diclekent Köprülü crossroad and then out of the city.

TEM DIRECTOR WAS 'ANNOYED' BY HIM

Aktumur said: "At some point another man got into the car. When the car was unlocked I tried to escape but they recaptured me and threatened to shoot me. Threatened my family. Told me that the Anti Terror Unit (TEM) director was 'annoyed' by me.

Stating that he was constantly beaten for about an hour and exposed to threats and insults, Aktumur stated that he was finally taken to the Diyarbakır Urban Forest. Explaining that he got off the car there, Aktumur said they blindfolded him to prevent him from seeing the licence plate. They threatened to kill me and my family if I pressed charges or inform Human's Rights Association.

Stating that this was not the first time he was kidnapped, Aktumur said this was an attack against the idea of HDP. Aktumur underlined that youth assembly members are being kidnapped left and right, and said: "These attacks are an attack on the youth, the strongest advocates of the HDP idea. Because we know very well throughout history that youth is the biggest fear of dictators. As a result our history and tradition taught us resistance and struggle. In this context, we will continue to struggle to the end. We will dethrone the dictator."
