Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Ağrı Deputy Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, who was targeted by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, held a press conference with Group Deputy Chair Saruhan Oluç and the deputies at the headquarters of her party regarding the allegations against her.

 

Pointing out that their party has been facing heavy attacks and violence of the AKP government, Taşdemir told that thousands of members, executives and elected officials of their party have been arrested. Underlining that besides the random detention and arrest of their members, they are faced with a black propaganda and continued, "The trademark of the government is lies and slander. Instead of being held to account regarding the Garé Operation in the parliament, the Minister of Interior targeted our party and claimed that an MP had gone to Garé, without giving any names. He created a perception in the public for four days. And then he participated in a TV program and insulted our party for an hour. Turned the whole thing into a show and finally gave my name. But there were no proofs. He committed a character assassination based on a gossip."

 

This is not how to do politics. Adopting the methods of the Fettullah Gülen Congregation, Soylu targeted myself and my party, committing character assassination. We do not accept that. I am asking again, when did I go to Garé? Show us some documents. Don't tell stories to the public."

 

WHERE ARE THE SURVEILLENCE VIDEOS?

 

Taşdemir continued, "Hulusi Akar explained at the parliament, how and when did I entered that area even the army had difficulty in entering? When was I trained there, when did I come back? Are there regular flights to Garé and we don't know that? He talked about surviellence videos, where are they? Where are these photos?

 

I WILL FILE A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

 

I will use all my legal rights, I will file a criminal complaint and sue for damages. I will use the money for the poor kids in Ağrı. I have been a member of the parliament since June 7 elections. I have attended foreing meetings with my diplomatic passport and all of these visits were documented. There are records of every meeting I ever attended to. I have done everything out in the open. I shared information of the events I participated in. If they think they will walk out of it after manipulating the people, they are very wrong. I have never been to Garé. Soylu is putting a target on our backs. Soylu is lying. He is slendering."
