WAN - Prisoners in Giresun Espiye Type F Closed Prison have called for public awareness through their families against the increasing rights violations in recent days.
Violations of rights have been increasing in Giresun Type F Closed Prison in recent days. Prisoners made a call for sensitivity through their families in the prison where many violations of rights such as guard violence, not transferring ill prisoners, problems with food, unlawful practices of the prison administration have been experienced.
CALL FOR SENSITIVITY
Metin Uyar, who is being held in prison, told about the troubles through his family. Pointing out that the pressure has increased with the new warden appointed to the prison, Uyar said that prisoners have been stripped of almost all their rights. Uyar stated that the guards have been applying pressure amounting to torture and that they have also been threatened. Stating that none of their petitions were taken into consideration and that they were not given newspapers and letters, Uyar said that the already harsh conditions were getting more and more severe.
Uyar called for sensitivity from the public, politicians and rights organizations.
