Many houses were raided in Istanbul districts in the morning hours. At least 14 people, including Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was elected from the Republican People's Party (CHP) in the March 31 elections with the “Urban Consensus”, and Koma Hevra soloist Zeynep Doğan, were detained. It is learned that the detentions were based on the allegation of “being a member of an illegal organization”.
It is stated that the number of detainees may increase and they are taken to Istanbul Provincial Security Directorate in Fatih district.
On the other hand, it is stated that searches are ongoing in Esenyurt Municipality building.
