Özğan was last taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK), but the results are not yet available.

Ill prisoner İsa Özğan's lawyer Ferat Boğatekin stated that his client cannot meet his basic needs and that he receives help from other prisoners. Stating that Özğan cannot even wash his clothes by himself, Boğatekin said, "He cannot take a bath by himself and cannot go to the sink by himself. The other prisoners in the ward support him in all these matters. On the other hand, he stated that he was taken to the infirmary very late for his health problems.  He stated that sometimes he was taken to the infirmary 2, 3 weeks after the petition date. He stated that after he was taken to the infirmary, he was given his medication within a month."

Boğatekin stated that his client Özğan gets cold more often due to his rheumatism and chronic diseases, and that for this reason he fills bottles with hot water and puts them on his bed to keep warm.

Boğatekin stated that İsa Özğan, who was taken to Campus Hospital for treatment, was forced to be examined in handcuffs and was insulted by the gendarmerie. Boğatekin also stated that the Forensic Medicine Institution, where he was taken for a report 2 weeks ago, has not yet announced a result.

İzzet Özğan, son of İsa Özğan, stated that his father was arrested for attending funerals to express condolences and making speeches there. Stating that his father has many chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and prostate, İzzet Özğan stated that his father must be released.

Emphasising that prison conditions are harsh for patients, Özğan said, "My father's condition is getting worse and worse. It is obvious that he has lost weight, we see that his skin colour is getting more yellow again. He himself also states that the conditions are harsh. The indictment against my father has not been prepared yet."

Özğan added that the lawyers applied to the prosecutor's office for the indictment, but they could not obtain any information and said, "My father is very ill, so he would not be able to live if he was left alone right now. The detainees inside are serving him. So he cannot survive on his own. That's why I want my father to be released."
