Ramazan Karatas releases after 32 years

ANKARA - Ramazan Karatas released after 32 years of imprisonment. 
 
Ramazan Karatas was released from Konya Ereğli High Security Closed Prison after 32 years of imprisonment. Karatas was arrested in 1993 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Karatas was imprisoned in prisons in Erzirom (Erzurum), Trabzon, Mûş (Muş), Istanbul and Balıkesir during his imprisonment. For the las 3 years he had been held in Konya Ereğli High Security Closed Prison. 
 
Karatas's release had been postponed 4 times before by the Administration and Observation Board (IGK) due to his refusal to "repentance". Karataş was released today and travelled to Panos (Patnos) district of his hometown Agirî (Ağrı).
