ANKARA - AKP, CHP, MHP and the IYIP condemned the Idlib attack, where 33 soldiers died, with a joint statement.

AKP, CHP, MHP and the Good Party condemned the Idlib attack, where 33 soldiers died, with a joint statement they made in Turkey Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

The common statement said 'We condemn the vile and atrocious attack vigorously'.

The statement is as follows: "

"Our 33 heroes were martyred and 32 sons were injured in the attack taken place in Idlib tension reduction zone in an attack carried out against Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). We are in great pain. Condolences to our nation. As the parties of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the signitures below, we condemn this vile and atrocious attack vigorously. We express that the solution should be in a political way supported by international law, in order to prevent humanitarian drama in the region, provided that we have the right to respond to the attacks on our soldiers.

Our confidence in the success of Heroic Turkish Army performing its duties given by the Turkey Grand National Assembly (TBMM) successfully is absolute."

On the other hand, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Group Deputy Chairs Fatma Kurtulan and Saruhan Oluç made a written statement regarding the joint statement and said:

"We did not sign the joint statement signed by 4 parties in the parliament, because..

1- We do not find it appropriate to sign the condemnation with the ruling allience who is resposinble for their wrong policies in Syria as if nothing happened. We are deeply sorry for every young person who lost their lives in Idlib and we extend our condolences to their families. But we do not find it appropriate to condemn this with those who have responsibility in this disaster.

2. The Assembly does not convene extraordinarily despite all demands, it is treated as if we are facing an ordinary situation; the Idlib disaster is not being discussed openly in front of the public; no one is willing to hold themselves accountable for the increasingly heavy prices the people have to pay but instead the parties issue a common condemnation statement. This is an attitude far from being sincere.
