Access block on Odatv from BTK

NEWS CENTER - An access block has been imposed on Odatv news website shortly after its news director Barış Terkoğlu and reporter Hülya Kılınç were arrested.
 
The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has announced that access to Odatv news website has been blocked from Turkey following the arrest of its news director Barış Terkoğlu and reporter Hülya Kılınç over a news report on March 4,  2020.
 
When odatv.com is searched on the "inquiry about website information" page of the BTK, the users see the following message:
 
"After technical analysis and legal consideration based on the law nr. 5651, administration measure has been taken for this website (odatv.com) according to decision nr. 490.05.01.2020-935064 dated 05/03/2020 of the Information and Communication Technologies."
 
BACKGROUND
 
Odatv news director Barış Terkoğlu and reporter Hülya Kılınç were arrested on March 4 over a news report about the burial of a National Intelligence Organization (MİT) official who was killed in Libya.
 
The news report on the burial of the official in Akhisar, Manisa was published on Odatv news website on March 3.
 
Odatv editor-in-chief Barış Pehlivan has also been summoned to depose yesterday.
