İSTANBUL- Volunteers of the solidarity networks in İstanbul have produced and distributed 2 thousand face protection equipments for the healthcare workers under threat.
According to the information shared by the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), coronavirus tests of more than a 1000 health workers have come out to be positive in Turkey. Some of the healthcare workers are hospitalized while some are in quarantine at home. Healthcare workers, who are reported to have be infected due to the limited number of protective equipment are in urgent need of PPE, such as masks, gloves, overalls and face protection equipments.
In the light of this portrait, volunteers in various solidarity networks established in İstanbul's Kadıköy, Kartal, Maltepe, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Sarıyer and some other districts have rolled up their sleeves in order to support the healtcare workers. Volunteers started to produce hand-made face protection equipments for healthcare workers with the materials they supply themselves at home.
Esra Üşütür, one of the volunteers of the Kadıköy Solidarity Network, informed that they have produced and delivered 2 thousand face protection equipments to the healthcare workers. The voluntary groups also organize to arrange food supply for the animals and also the support the elderly.
