DİYARBAKIR- DTK Co-chair Leyla Guven stated that sending the deceased body of Agit Işık to her family by "cargo shipping" is a result of the approach of the government regarding the solution of the Kurdish question.

The body of HPG guerilla Agit İpek, who died on May 23, 2017 on Xelasor Hill in Dersim, was delivered to his family on April 10 by PTT cargo shipping. İpek's family made the funeral of their son in Elmabahçe (Tizyan) in Artuklu district of Mardin city. On the other hand, the delivery of İpek's body to his family by cargo caused many reactions as this incident reminded the various previous applications of the government over the deceased bodies in the past.

NEVER FORGOTTEN: MOTHER TAYBET, EKİN WAN, HACI LOKMAN BİRLİK...

In the Silopi district Şırnak, the mother of 11 children, 57-year-old Taybet Inan was killed by the sniper shot on December 19, 2015 while walking home during the curfews in the region. The deceased body of the Mother Taybet was forced to wait in the middle of street for days as the family members who went out to take the body of Mother Taybet inside were also aimed by the snipers.

Another unforgotten name is Kader Kevser Eltürk (Ekin Van), who was killed on 10 August 2015 in the Varto district of Muş. Her deceased body were exposed to the media, naked.

On October 3, 2015, what happened to the deceased body of the 24-year-old Hacı Lokman Birlik also created a huge reaction. In the Dicle District of Şırnak, Birlik's deceased body was dragged in the streets,  tied by ropes to the back of a military vehicle.

And then came the Cemile Çağırga. She was only 10 years old. The little girl got killed during the curfews in Cizre district of Şırnak.
Her family was not allowed to make a funeral and even to bury their daughter. As a result the family had to keep the 10-year-old's dead body in their fridge.

'WHAT İS GOING ON IN TURKEY IS CALLED A WAR'

Under the light of the last incident, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair Leyla Güven evaluated the applications of the government against the deceased bodies. Güven stated that as long as there is no democratic sollution introduced to the Kurdish question, the war in Turkey continues, but the state authorities are not willing to call this a war. "However, what is going on in Turkey is called a war", said Güven. Naming the current process, which has been going on agaist to Kurdish people in Turkey for years now "low density war habitat", Güven emphasized that the mistreatment against the deceased bodies is a war policy.

'WE WILL COME UP AS ROSES'

Stating that there is a continuous war in Turkey because of the fact that the Turkish government is not willing to solve the Kurdish question, Güven said, “There is another reality within this truth and that is the approach against the dead bodies and funerals. The Kurdish question continues unsolved as long as the Republic of Turkey frequently refers to such war-methods of: Torturing dead bodies, destroying cemeteries, insulting the deceased and treating them with disrespect. We saw them during the burial of the mother of Hacı Birlik Lokman, Ekin Van, Mother Taybet, little Cemile and in the attack to the cemetery of Aysel Tuğluk's mother. Now, Agit İpek's deceased body is sent to his family within a shipping box by cargo. They know there is no result they can achieve by such a mistreatment. They are still trying to manipulate and control the Kurdish people. The government wonders, what reflext the Kurds could give. So, what is the reflex? The Kurdish people expressed their reflex very clearly. Today, Halise Mother reveals this reflex, as she reveals resistance against such a pain. In other words, she is not sitting and crying, but standing tall."

Güven reminds the words of Agit İpek's mother Halise as she cries outloud that: "Humanity would not accept such a mistreatment. No religion could accept such a thing. As they continue to mistreat us, we will come up as roses and flowers".
