NEWS CENTER - The curfew will remain in place from 7 pm to 6 am every day till 5 June.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has issued a decree regarding the measures to contain the outbreak and spread of coronavirus.

Accordingly, the curfew will remain in place from 7 pm to 6 am every day till 5 June.

Shops will be allowed to open, and travel restrictions have been lifted. On the other hand, all workplaces and businesses will officially start work on 27 May.

The decree also states that the Tabqa and Tahya border crossings will be kept open for human needs while the other border crossings will be kept closed until a further notice.

Tabqa and Tahya border crossings in Manbij are located in the areas under control of the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian government.

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a curfew on 23 March to contain the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic. The curfew has been extended several times.

First of all, the border crossings were closed. Since then, pandemic prevention teams have been regularly disinfecting streets, squares, shops and public facilities. Parallel to the proclamation of the curfew, crisis teams have been set up in the cities to coordinate action on the ground.

With a few exceptions, almost all public facilities were closed and travel was suspended. As a result, travel between cities within northern and eastern Syria was prohibited except in extremely urgent cases.

Quarantine centres have been established throughout northern and eastern Syria in case of suspected infection cases. In addition, all health centres were subjected to special cleaning.
