SERIOUS CONCERNS
In the statement it was said: "Abdullah Ocalan has been held in solitary confinement in Turkey for more than 25 years and has been cut off from the outside world. He is not able to meet with his lawyers since in August 2019. All contacts have been cut off since March 2021. It is no longer possible to trust established institutions such as the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), which, despite numerous demands and available information, have not taken action against the practice of illegal isolation.
INSPIRATION TO ALL COMMUNITIES
Abdullah Ocalan's writings inspire intellectuals, thinkers, scientists, workers, activists, artists, trade unionists, social movements, politicians and all societies. Abdullah Ocalan left Syria 25 years ago as a Kurd leader following an international conspiracy and returned years later as the pioneer of a free, multi-ethnic, multi-religious and grassroots democratic society. An autonomous, self-governing social system is emerging in Northern and Eastern Syria, based on Abdullah Ocalan's ideas of women's liberation, ecology and radical democracy. The philosophy developed by Abdullah Ocalan gives us renewed hope for the possibility of a democratic social system. He formulated the phrase 'Jin, Jîyan, Azadî (Woman, Life, Freedom)' in his prison cell; The slogan of the women's freedom struggle in the 21st century is a compass for all women who rebel and struggle.
Abdullah Ocalan contributed to the renewal of the Kurdish Freedom Movement by showing a way forward with the most comprehensive definition of democracy the world has ever seen. His writings are a breathtaking inquiry into life without a state and a vision of a democratic-ecological society that offers a new perspective on the search for a new socialism. Abdullah Ocalan's demands for democratic forms of social organization deserve the attention of everyone interested in constructive social thought or the reconstruction of society along feminist and ecological lines."
