Istanbul Peace Mothers Initiative made a statement in front of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Kanarya Representative Office in Küçükçekmece against the attacks and war policies towards North & East Syria. While carrying the banners "Jin, jiyan, azadî (Woman, life, freedom), "Mothers want peace", the slogans "Em şer naxwazin, aşitî dixwazin (We do not want war, we want peace)", "No to war, peace now", "Jin, jiyan, azadî" were chanted.

 

DEMAND FOR DEMOCRACY

 

Peace Mother Initiative member Revşan Güler, pointed out that the war is going on all over the Middle East and the attacks on North & East Syria are being carried out by Turkey. 

 

Revşan Güler stated that they are struggling against the wars surrounding the world and said: "We mothers are in favour of democracy. Everyone who wants peace should join hands and approach sincerely. This dirty war, which is rising rapidly in the Middle East and continues, will come to the doorsteps of all of us. As Peace Mothers, we want neither Kurds nor Turks to shed tears. The tears of all mothers are one. In order to ensure peace, everyone must play a role and put a stop to this war. This war does not benefit any of us. We must demand freedom and peace in politics, economy and diplomacy."
