'SENDING MONEY IS NOT A CRIME'

EGE-TUHAYDER Co-Chair Ayfer Yıldırım said that the criminalisation of sending money to prisoners is an indication of "deepening isolation". Pointing to the regulation on sending money to prisoners, Ayfer Yıldırım emphasised that sending money cannot be considered as "financing an illegal organization". Ayfer Yıldırım said, "It is forbidden to send food, clothing and many other necessities to prisons. All needs will be met in the canteen and the only way to meet these needs is by sending money to prisoners."

After the statement, money was sent to prisoners.
