NEWS CENTER - A car-bomb explosion left 16 people dead in the Serekaniye city in northern Syria which is occupied by the Turkish army and allied mercenary groups.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has documented fatalities as a result of a violent explosion in the northern Syrian city of Serekaniye (Ras al-Ain) in Heseke countryside on Thursday.
According to SOHR, the death toll rose to 16, among them three Turkish soldiers, including an officer, at least two civilians, and 11 from civilian police and the Sultan Murad faction.
“All were killed in a car-bomb explosion at a joint checkpoint between the civilian police and the Sultan Murad faction at the entrance to Ras al-Ain,” SOHR said.
The observatory noted that the death toll is expected to rise further as 12 other people were injured, some seriously, including Turkish soldiers.
