Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven was detained after being sentenced to 22 years 6 months in prison by the Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court. Güven was detained from HDP's Semra Güzel's apartment in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır.

While being taken into custody, Güven said: "You wouldn't even know if ı was to flee. I am not going anywhere. I will continue to engage in politics in this country. To stand against the persecution of the tyrant takes courage like this."

Güven was taken to the police car accompanied by applause and people shouting the slogan 'Berxwedan Jiyane'. Güven was taken to Counter terrorism unit. There is a 24 hour detention decision for Güven, then she will be taken to court.
