MÊRDÎN - In the statement made on the 14th day of the vigil on the border with Qamishlo, "We are the heart of Rojava. We will be standing in all four parts of Kurdistan as long as this war does not stop" message given.
The vigil at the Qamishlo border in Nisêbîn (Nusaybin) district of Mêrdîn (Mardin) against the ongoing attacks of Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) against North and East Syria continues on its 14th day. Citizens who came together in the morning in the vigil area gave voice to Rojava with songs.
The crowd frequently chanted slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)", "Rojava rumeta me ye (Rojava is our honour)". The crowd also carried banners with the photographs of journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin who were murdered in North and East Syria.
A delegation from Sêrt (Siirt) also supported the vigil organized by the mothers with their kilams (Kurdish traditional song).
'ROJAVA IS FIGHTING FOR ITS IDENTITY'
Speaking at the statement, Peace Mother Perihan Altuğ stated that it is everyone's basic humanitarian duty to embrace Rojava.
Speaking afterwards, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Sêrt Provincial Co-Chair Mustafa Dayanan drew attention to the struggle in Rojava and said: "For 14 days, our honourable mothers have been displaying a united resistance. Today, the dirty war is aimed at destroying humanity. We condemn this dirty war. We do not accept war. Rojava people are fighting for their identity, culture and existence. All kinds of dirty war is being waged against the Kurdish people. The success of Rojava is the success of this region. We are the heart of Rojava. Let's be one. We call out to the Turkish state; we want peace, not war".
